JEAN-PIERRE RUIZ ATTORNEY AT LAW
Jean-Pierre (“JP”) focuses his legal practice on animal law, and corporate law for non-profits dedicated to animal causes.
JP received an engineering degree from McGill University in Montreal, and his law degree from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law, where he was on the Dean’s List. JP was a member of the nationally-recognized Chicago-Kent Trial Advocacy Team and participated in numerous mock trials. He also clerked for Appellate Judge Warren D. Wolfson, author of seminal books on trial advocacy such as Material in Trial Advocacy and Trial Evidence. JP is licensed in Illinois, Arizona, Washington and the District of Columbia, and is a member of the Washington State Bar where he is a member of the Animal Law division. JP was an associate at the Chicago-based law firm of Clausen Miller (www.clausen.com), a full-service 175-attorney firm with world-wide offices. He was also a subrogation attorney with Kemper National Insurance Company, based in Long Grove (IL). JP also has extensive management experience, having taken a hiatus from the practice of law to become CEO for a small-sized manufacturing firm based in Seattle (WA). JP combines his passion for animal well-being with a strong sense of empathy, sympathy and compassion. He inspires trust and confidence and believes in persuading, not arguing. He also believes in zealous, but civil, representation of his clients. JP is a member of the Animal Legal Defense Fund. ![]() Jean-Pierre ("JP") is also the
